Welcome to the St. Paul's Auction student art web site. This page shows a quick summary of the projects created by the different grades and classes for this year's auction. Projects are divided by grade, so scroll down to the appropriate location to view your child's work. And of course, please attend the auction this Thursday, February 28, at Oysterella's to see these wonderful projects in person. Everyone did a really amazing job!

Pre-K: Thumbprint Tile Mirrors

The pre-kindergartners created beautiful glazed tile mirrors using their thumbprints to make a variety of animals. Each class has a mirror in a beach, ocean, or forest theme. Mirrors and tiles are framed in white with a black ribbon side and are ready to hang.

Kindergarten: Ceramic Windchimes

The kindergartners created wonderful windchimes from handmade clay animals that they cut, formed, and glazed themselves. Animals are strung from copper hangers and look great indoors or out.

First Grade: Self Portraits

First graders each drew a self portrait on 2"x2" watercolor paper, and then the resulting pieces were assembled and framed into a class composite. We are also having slightly smaller prints made, and these will be available for order at the auction and through your child's class after the auction is over.

Second Grade: Handmade Illustration

The second graders hand produced colorful paper pieces that were then assembled into a beautiful image from a popular children's book series. The resulting artwork is framed in black.

Third Grade: Noah's Arks

Each third grade class made a complete Noah's Ark set, including ark and pairs of animals, out of clay. Note that the arks shown in the following images have not yet been glazed and fired. The arks will have removable decks so that animals can be displayed on the ark as well as next to it. These works of art would look amazing on a table or buffet any time of the year.

Fourth Grade: Self Portraits

Fourth graders each drew a self portrait on a 2"x2" piece of watercolor paper. Individual pieces were then assembled into a class composite. Slightly smaller prints are also being produced and will be available for pre-order at the auction as well as through your child's class.

Fifth Grade: Handpainted Tile Bench

The fifth grade created a wonderful bench out of 2"x2" hand painted tiles. The bench is approximately four feet in length and would look wonderful at a beach house or even just on the back patio.

Sixth Grade: Framed Copper Artwork

Mrs. Fricke's second semester sixth grade art class created a copper tooling project using scissors to cut out various "tropical" shapes and wooden stylus tools over plastic molds to create the three-dimensional details. Then each student used chocolate brown shoe polish to rub over the top of their pieces to give them an antique finish. The artwork is mounted on a black background and beautifully framed.

Seventh Grade: Nativity Scene

Seventh graders created a glazed clay Nativity scene with individual figurines. This work of art would look beautiful on a table or buffet at Christmas time.

Eighth Grade: Clay Crosses

The eighth graders created painted clay crosses with various designs. Each will be sold separately.
